So I arrived in Ft Jackson, SC, a couple weeks before he did. At first they would not allow us any communication with our family and I had a daughter only 10 years old, and this was very hard on her and I remember the pain deep in my gut when I would go to sleep, in the barracks. I would sometimes cry myself to sleep. I never let them see me cry. NEVER! Some of the others and there was 60 females in my company. I saw some of them break down and it was not a pretty sight. One female in another company committed suicide and one in my company had a seizure, from the stress... Do you want to hear more? It is sad to me that we all have lost so much respect for what freedom stands for and I myself learned a great deal and the experience reinforced the values that were inspired in my life seeing others lose their right to be free.
